Preventing Injuries

This one is for everyone, but as an athlete you REALLY need to pay attention.

The most common injuries as an athlete are sprains and strains, both of which take time to heal.

Connective tissue is made up of primarily collagen; it is tissue that connects, supports, binds or separates other tissues/organs. It connects muscle to bone, and bone to bone.

So that being said, consuming the right foods can help prevent injuries and create stronger connective tissue.

First thing is, make sure you’re staying hydrated. Drink lots of water! Look for food that is high in Collagen, Amino Acids, Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper and Vitamin E. You can supplement some of these with pill versions. (IE: collagen)

Here’s a quick list of foods to chose to add to your diet:

  • Bone Broth

  • Salmon

  • Leafy Greens

  • Citrus Fruits

  • Brussels Sprouts

  • Eggs

  • Tomatoes

  • Garlic

  • Berries

  • Green tea

  • Almonds

  • Chickpeas

  • Avocados

  • Chia Seeds
